At 16'-0" LOA, 6'-0" of beam, and rated up to 60 hp of tiller power, she is an ultra-light, versatile and durable solution for people looking for a boat that functions as both a rigid inflatable tender and a poling skiff. Maybe you run a liveaboard mothership operation, or an explorer yacht and need a tender but also want to do some fishing? Bingo, this is the boat for you.
With her removable casting deck, you can stalk spooky fish all day from its elevated vantage point and then remove the deck and make a run to the harbor later in the evening with comfortable seating for 6 passengers. Shore excursions to the beach, yep she's got your back on that too. You can tie her up to the mothership without needing bumpers. She has built-in lifting rings as standard equipment for davits and cranes to help bring her back aboard when you want to make a big move. She has an anchor locker and bow storage standard. She comes standard with diamond plate non-skid decking with upgrade EVA carved foam padding as optional.
RIBs of this type generally handle sporty conditions better than a traditional flats skiff and for that reason, we could see the Salinas just as at home stalking the shallow waters of northern climates as she would be in the Caribbean or the Indian Oceans.
The Salinas Rib is the next step in our journey of developing our full line of truly unique inflatables geared towards people who love to fish those hard-to-reach places with shallow water flats.
The name Salinas means Saltworks in Spanish. When we first started working on our line of rigid inflatables the core SmithFly R&D team stayed on the grounds of the former Civil War-era Saltworks of Cape San Blas, Florida. So we thought what better name for this boat than Salinas? Just a sexier way to say Saltworks.
